OUR MISSION

The mission of AFASA (a 501c3 founded in 1992) is to bring African people in Arizona together to promote African awareness through educational and cultural activities. The organization works to be an educational resource to the surrounding community and to serve as a contact for new African immigrants to Arizona.

ABOUT US

The African Association of Arizona is a non profit organization founded in February of 1992 to promote greater Africa awareness through education and cultural activities. The membership is open to all Africans, Africans in the Diaspora, and friends of Africa in Arizona.

The association is actively involved in developing an infrastructure for networking, strengthening our families, and increasing the awareness and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.

The association is involved in volunteer services for the community that benefit both youths and adults. We seek ways to help the less fortunate in Arizona and Africa. We were involved in fund raising efforts for the Rwanda refugees. We are in the process of adopting a minority Elementary school in South Phoenix.
